Questions before you start

Do I need to know exactly where I want to go?

No. Many of our conversations begin with “somewhere warm in February” or “Japan, but not the usual trip.” Helping you choose is part of the work. Our destination guides and Travel Insights are a good place to start thinking.

How far ahead should I plan?

For peak periods, such as cherry blossom season in Japan, the New Zealand and Australian summer, or year-end holidays anywhere, the best-located hotels and lodges can fill many months ahead, so earlier is better. For other times, several months is usually comfortable. If your dates are close, ask anyway; we will tell you honestly what is realistic.

Can you help with destinations not listed here?

Often, yes. Through Fora we can arrange travel well beyond our six focus countries. We will be open about where our knowledge is deepest and where we are drawing on wider industry resources.

How are bookings made and paid for?

Bookings are made through Fora, our host travel agency. Deposits, payment schedules and cancellation terms are set by each hotel, airline or operator, and we explain them clearly before you commit to anything.

Do you only work with US travelers?

Most of our clients live in the United States, but we are glad to plan for travelers based anywhere.
